The Fund is a value-oriented investment vehicle established primarily to invest globally in publicly-traded equity securities. The Fund's investment objective is to provide its investors with a superior absolute compounded rate of return over an extended period of time, while minimizing the risk of capital loss. The Fund also seeks to outperform the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index net of all fees and expenses.

The Fund devotes the majority of its assets and investment resources to acquiring equity in publicly-traded businesses based on investment criteria that have historically resulted in superior returns. Secondarily, the Fund looks to invest in spin-offs along with risk, capital structure and other arbitrage situations as well as short opportunities that have also historically delivered superior risk-adjusted returns and which reduce the Fund’s long market exposure. The Fund invests in each of the foregoing categories by capitalizing on short-term pricing inefficiencies that arise in the financial markets by buying and selling short securities whose trading values are significantly different from their intrinsic values.
